Riverton Fishing Derby.
Riverton, CT. Third Saturday of the month. Traditionally
the derby begins with the sounding of the siren at the
Riverton firehouse at 6:00 AM and ends at 10:00 AM. Fish
must be taken to the firehouse to be entered in the derby.
There is an adults' division and a children's division. In
the past a Hitchcock rocking chair has been the grand

Memorial Day Parade.
Norfolk, CT. Memorial Day. A town parade including the
local High School and Junior High School marching bands
starts at 9:00 AM. The route winds around the village
green, down the hill to Memorial Green. A guest speaker is
invited to give the address. The Volunteer Fire Fighters
offer juice and doughnuts after the parade for children.
